Kissing frogs

Finding time is a myth.  You have to make time for your critical priorities.  My efficiency seems to ebb and flow like the tide coming in and out.  Some times I’m killing it and feeling right on track.  Other times I need to take a few steps back and re-group.  I’ve known for years that any time I do something someone else can do I lose and opportunity to do something only I can do.  So the struggle comes when productivity and results are really procrastination because I could have someone else on my team get those results for me while I work on something only I can do.  But… sometimes I enjoy doing the process or task that I could otherwise outsource.  The trick is being balanced and disciplined enough to recognize the long term opportunity cost of buckling down and focusing on the things only I can do.  If you have to kiss a frog, you don’t want to look at it for too long cause it ins’t going to get any prettier.
