5 Coffees UO Grads should be drinking

FIVE COFFEES THAT UNIVERSITY OF OREGON GRADUATES SHOULD BE DRINKING.

Posted by Jared Sawyer

Rain doesn’t bother you, in fact you love it and the fenders on your bicycle prove you have the brains to solve any problem and the resolve to not let any obstacle get in your way. You are a Duck, you are different, you should drink different too… you should be drinking the best but not paying the most because you are smart. We tip our hat to you and we have picked out a few coffees just for UO Alumni like yourself.

  1. Hairbender from Stumptown Coffee Roasters
You are familiar with being a Champion, just look at your Athletic program the past few years. Marcus Mariota anyone? This coffee will resonate you, it is Stumptown’s most popular blend roasted just up the road in Portland Oregon. Coffees from every major producing region provide the individual components of this complex, sweet, and savory blend. It yields flavors of milk chocolate, caramel, jasmine, Meyer lemon, apricot and pineapple!
  2. Ethiopia Yirgacheffe Konga from Metropolis Coffee Roasts
You know the Matthew Knight Arena is sweet… well so is this coffee! Can you say blueberry pancakes? This coffee is produced in the Yirgacheffe region, which is situated in the Sidema province and has flavors of blueberry, shortbread and orange.
  3. Holler Moutain from Stumptown Coffee Roasters
Your friends Taylor and Rennie may have helped you out with some late nights for which you needed some strong coffee in the morning. Those days may be over but in case you relapse this coffee is sure to start your engine. Holler Mountain is certified organic and has a syrupy, heavy body that supports dark toned notes of blackberry, hazelnut, and toffee.
  4. Hannas Private Reserve from Dillanos Coffee Roasters
You know that Steve Prefontaine made Eugene famous for being “track town.” It would take Pre’s skills to outrun the moonsoons that washed this unique coffee that uses the spice notes of Monsoon Malabar to create the foundation for a syrupy espresso experience. Flavor Profile:  Syrup-Like, Cinnamon and Chocolate Characteristics.
  1. Costa Rica Montes De Oro from Stumptown Coffee Roasters
You and that old statue on campus of Jebediah Springfield can relate… You are both pioneers, blazing a path into uncharted territory. Being a graduate of the University of Oregon your palate has been refined and now you are ready for the best, we applaud you. This coffee has a bright flash of fruit mellows quickly into a comforting, subtle flavor of dark chocolate with a honey finish.

The next time you go to that dinner party at a friends house from a rival school your conversation can go something like this….

“I brought some Stumptown Montes De Oro I thought you would like to try.”

“Oh wow, is it anything like this stuff I get from Costco?”

“Hmmm, I wouldn’t know, I’m a UO Alumni and I don’t drink burnt garbage.”
